At the sale price I think this sweater is well worth it. The fit is a little funky, similar to some other Northern European garments I have purchased in the past. It's almost like they expect you to be wearing extra short-sleeved clothes/vests underneath their stuff because the torso tends to be big while the arms are much more form fitting. And it's not just the stomach area, the entire torso from neck down is bigger than would be expected with the sleeves (possibly a mis-match in attaching the wrong sleeve/torso sizes?). For me it does work great over a dress shirt/t-shirt combo. I don't think I would wear it much without a collared shirt underneath or only a t-shirt because of the above fit as well as the collar is a little bigger than the average neck and looks a bit weird on its own. For me at a 35-36" shirt sleeve length the sleeves in the L are just a tad short, but they work fine and the sweater will probably relax with more wear. Very comfortable to wear once you get it on and get a little used to the tighter armpit/sleeve. Not sure where mine was made, couldn't find a country of manufacture anywhere on it.

Very strange fit through the shoulders, as cited by other reviewers. Seems to have been cut for a strapping Viking lad with huge pecs (or a Valkyrie in a brass bra). Collar is a floppy, ineffective joke. Zipper is light and flimsy, difficult to engage. If you like this style, better to consider the Icewear Gunnar if there are any left. It is essentially the same sweater done right with a substantial wool standup collar (a scaled down version of the collar on the amazing Icewear Bergen pullover) and no weirdness in the shoulders. Better still, the Gunnar is $40 less than the Hordaland. I returned my Hordaland immediately and bought another Gunnar while I still could.

This is a pretty sweater and it fits me fine. I have scrawny arms so I did not notice anything that didn't fit right except for the neck. I guess when they gave the pattern to the Chinese manufacturer they screwed up. In the picture it appears to be a normal zip collar but it is really an oversized neck hole. Why have a windproof wool sweater if the wind is going to blow right down your neck? It is enough to make me return it, but it is a bit annoying. As far as the noise of the lining, this is not unusual. I have had a couple of Dale of Norway sweaters with Windstopper lining and the lining sounds the same on them them also. I was looking for a nice zip up wool sweater and the price was good, so I am happy overall.

I've had an Icewear Sweater for many years that I love and get many positive comments on. I couldn't remember where I got it so I went on line to find another one. Found Icewear Sweaters at Sierra Trading Post that were "on sale". Fantastic! The black, white and grey pattern is beautiful and I love the sweater. The wind proof liner does the job and the sweater is great for a range of outdoor activities even in the coldest months. Only problem: My wife wants me to save it for special occasions and I want to wear it everyday!

Overall pretty nice sweater with lining too, it was Made In China though NOT Iceland. I read other reviews and bought up a size, I wear an XL and bought a 2XL, it fits fine, sleeve length too. Only thing I noticed was the outer cuffs were starting to pill a little bit due to wearing underneath another jacket, otherwise NICE!!!
