We haven't used it yet, but I liked the quality of the product. I will use it as a steamer if not a fire bowl.

This isn't a "portable fire pit." It's not much bigger than vegetables steamers of the same design. It's just the right size to grill food for 1-2 people. It worked great and cleaned up well. We also use it as a miniature fire pit by cutting a DuraFlame log into 4 quarters. It's small and light enough to bring along on day hikes or bicycle trips.

It's nicely made, with the folding sides close-fitting and easy to use. One thing though - there's no way to keep the charcoal or wood up off the bottom of the bowl. So the steel won't last as long, and the charcoal may not burn completely as there's no way for air to get under it. I'm trying to think of something to use for a grid to hold the coals or wood up off the bottom. Haven't managed it yet, as it's rather small as grills go.
