Initial Attack Owyhee Upland Vest (For Men)

Didn't use it because I thought it was ridiculouly bulky. There is no system to cinch it up. Felt like you were wearing a floppy, loose tire.

As a canvas maker I design/sew/repair everything from boat covers to decoy bags to gorilla costumes (no kidding). With every hunting vest I've owned there are always a few modifications I do to trick it out to meet my own needs and this vest is no exception. That notwithstanding this is a well designed vest with large side pockets, ample game storage which is easily accessible, padded shoulder straps, two 1L bottle holders, a 2L hydration bladder pocket, and lots of D rings. I usually hunt 2 dogs at a time so I need lots of storage for a first aid kit, water, leashes etc and this vest does it all. It is on the large size, especially if you hunt in shirt sleeves but if you have to layer up for cold weather then order your regular size.

I am normaly at least a size large which was not available. I had read some reviews on this vest in a gundog fourm, which made me believe the medium would fit. It does fit! even over a heavy coat. This is the best vest I have found, especially for the bird hunter that needs to carry extra gear and water for long hunts. The weight is so well distributed that even with a full vest there is no shoulder strain. The shell loops seem useless, but I have never used them. GREAT VEST!!!

A good vest with handy attachment points on the front for GPS or e-collar transmitter. Good storage and load bearing for long hikes. Ample room in the shell pockets but because of the frontal placement they hit against your legs when full. The game bag is roomy but much of the space is lost with a water bladder in place. The game bag can be fully opened for cleaning or use as an emergency dog carrier.

This is a great vest.... used it grouse hunting this year. It's well built. Pretty much you get what you see. Though im a "M" and had to send it back gor a "S"
