I bought these for my 8yo son, in preparation for a 3-night backcountry fishing trip in the Uintas. We took two 4-6 mile hikes prior to the event to break them in, and had no problems. The night before our entry, the Uintas got hammered with a real gully-washer, and the trails were wet and muddy all day as we hiked in... No problem. He went 11.5 miles in and gained 2600ft with a 20lb pack with no blisters, and had dry feet the whole day. Awesome boot. They'll be great for him this winter, too.
