I expected a run of the mill, klunky, awkward rain boot. What I got was a very comfortable,very light weight boot with a steel-toe type kick. I wore these to work where I walk an average of 5 miles a night and found the light weight was less substantially tiring. The boots aren't even broken in yet and are more comfortable than most I've tried.

My first pair of Irish Setters. I put these on today, right out of the box and wore them to work. Very comfortable, nice toe room and good fit and support around my ankles. I was indoors much of the day to test the breathable membrane, wearing very heavy sox and know I made a very good choice. I reviewed the OutDry material on the web and it worked for me. I have no doubt of the waterproof capability based on articles and reviews I have read. Certainly could use these for hunting and don't understand why these have not been flying off the shelf at STP. I guess folks equate camo with hunting. Soles and support are excellent. Got mine deeply discounted and the are a great value. Showed one of my friends at work and he asked me to grab him a pair too! His are on the way so get 'em while they still are in stock.

I got a size bigger than what he says he wears and they fit like a glove. He has yet to test them out in snow or water, but for chilly days and nights, these do more than just stand up to the challenge.

Got Irish Setter because he had those before and felt they were comfortable, warm, water proof, and good quality. This pair was all of the above--but warm. My husband really liked them, until he had to wear them out into the snow. The steel toe made them not very warm for tramping around in snow 25 degree weather, so we sent them back. He was so disappointed because he had loved his old pair (that didn't have a steel toe) very much. If you don't expect to be out in the snow much, boot is recommended. If your toes are prone to cold, another pair is probably a better choice.
