Isis Monarch Down Parka (For Women)

This jacket is so warm and cozy. Hood is deep and protective -- I know this will be a favorite for years to come.

The coat is warm, comfortable and fits well across the shoulders, the only problem is that it is too short. I went to clean the snow off the windshield of my car and felt a cold breeze coming up from around my waist. I tightened the strings but that wasn't enough to keep the cold from sneaking in. I would recommend this to others as long as they understand this limitation.

Warmth without the bulk of so many 650-fill jackets. Flattering cut.

WARNING: I wear Women Sz.18 and fit into Sz. 10, so be sure to order accordingly. Other than that, this is a great coat. I wanted all-around: Work, evenings, harsh weather, and light sports. This coat meets all my needs.

I wish, as a parka, it were somewhat longer, but it's nice and warm.

This is a great coat at a great price, but it runs big. I wear an 8-10 and ordered the small, and it is not flattering. Unfortunately, its going back. The small would probably work better if you are a 12-14.

Most comments about this jacket were that it runs large. This is true and so I downsized and it is great fit - actually enough room for something underneath. Isis makes such great clothes, I have never been disappointed. I highly recommend this product.

for backpacking trips in cold weather

Even though my measurements say I am size 6, I bought this coat in size 4, and still find that it is a little broad in the hips. Otherwise the fit is fine. Seems to be of very high quality and warm enough for outdoor work down to 10 degrees say, but I wouldn't want to depend on it for "extreme conditions" (eg below zero, high wind), and while it is supposedly waterproof, if it were raining buckets I don't think this coat would keep me dry for hours on end. I love the detachable faux fur trim on the hood, and also the detachable hood itself. Also the seams, pocket zippers, other moving parts, all very well finished. Nothing chintzy about this coat.
