I work outdoors 10 hours a day in the Midwest in both rain and snow and so I need my feet to be dry and warm and well supported; these boots do it all for me.

The boot felt very flimsy and had no structure to it. I put one boot on and took it off immediately and sent it back. It was very cheaply made. It was a very poor fit also - wide in arch and narrow in heel.

Bought these for my son and he has used them multiple times in the severe winter weather of the northeast (cold, wet and icy!) and he loves them. After hours outside sledding etc.. his feet were comfortable, warm and dry.

  • Question “Hello,|I am planning my first mountaineering outing and am looking for proper boots and other gear. Are these boots Snowshoe and crampon compatible?”
Asked on 1/19/2012 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Ashland, OR
    • Answer I would not recommend these boots for any sort of mountaineering. Here is a link for some great mountaineering boots.|http://www.sierratradingpost.com/s/mountaineering/
Answered on 1/20/2012 12:00:00 AM by Prod. Spec. Ryan from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer These boots will fit in both snowshoes and crampons, but I do not suggest them for mountaineering. They are very light and comfortable, but I do not believe they have the ankle support necessary for mountaineering. I would suggest spending a little extra money and getting something with more support.

  • Question “what low temp is this boot rated at and does it come with a removable and replaceable insert?”
Asked on 9/28/2010 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from alaska
    • Answer The liner is removable, but there is not a temperature rating for these shoes. There are various factors that can change that rating.
Answered on 9/29/2010 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer I believe the boot is rated for -40 degrees and even though it does not get that cold here in Michigan my feet were warm all day at 20 degrees. The liner is removeable and I believe you can purchase liners seperate to replace if needed.
Answered on 1/4/2011 12:00:00 AM by TODD THE RIPPER from Muskegon, MI
    • Answer Not sure the rating but liner is thin. Liner is removable.
