As a Scandianvian I know the Ivanhoe sweaters and cardigans well, they always have fresh designs and laid back styles. This is a blend wool cardigan ( wool, lambswool, 10% polyamid) which means it is not very soft and may be itchy as well. I ordered a large which was way too large for me, I am 173 cm, slim and usually wear 38-40 European. Evidently American Large is 42 European, oh well, I decided to keep it since I was going to wear a turtleneck underneath anyway. In a cold climate this is a good warm layer, the hood felt a bit small. Compared to Dale of Norway sweaters ivanhoes are more casual, more affordable, and bigger in sizes. but in the end I have always been satisfied with their quality, I will keep on adding them to my wardrobe. I have Astrid cardigan in brown as well, I like that one better, this one is somehow Chrismassy. Golfers note; Ivanhoe has a fantastic line for female golfers, the blouses are simply amazing, stretchy , stylish, wash well, and are almost ironing free! Check those out!
Reviewed by Christy from New Orleans on Tuesday, January 14, 2014This was a great choice for a jacket...it's not to heavy or to light, it's just perfect . I live in a warm climate, but this year it has been colder than most years.I just love this coat. Looks much better than the picture, and is well made. Great with jeans or any casual activity.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Amy from San Diego, CA on Thursday, January 24, 2013this is a unique sweater. i live in San Diego so there's not much wool being worn, but it's perfect outerwear when it gets cold here. i love the feel of it.
Reviewed by me from michigan on Saturday, November 24, 2012I though it had potential so I grabbed in on sale. So glad I did! I fell in love with Ivanhoe wool and the price on this was irresistable. I got the navy and it's much, much cuter than in the photo. I sized down to a medium (I'm usually a large / sometimes xl) for a trimmer fit and it's perfect. If you're going to wear anything bulky underneath, get your regular size - though I have to say it's warm enough without a serious base layer.
