The wind blocking lining makes a weird, crinkling noise, and it doesn't quite fit with the other layers, so the hat doesn't sit right on my head. It is warm and the color works for safety, but it's not comfortable like a normal knit hat.

It has a funny plastic liner, as described in the listing, to stop the wind, but I would think the noise the hat makes would scare away any nearby critters, large or small. I can imagine it will stop that crazy wind just fine, and we'll keep it handy for emergencies. Can't beat the great STP price!
