My son wanted the gloves, he just took up hunting, will be great can flip back the mitten & you have covered gloves that easily can be used with his shotgun. They also have an area where you can put in a warming pad

I have bought these for a friend and he has had them for one week. He has been trying to find mittens locally but one size doesn't fit all and that was all he could find. I ordered these for him because they were XL. The size chart helped. He can get them on without too much effort and he loves them. He says they are very warm and teases me that I can't have the mittens back.

Awesome glove. I bought a pair of "glommits" (fingerless with a flip-back cover for covering the exposted fingers) from [...] for a hunt this year, they sucked and were expensive. This type of glove is essential for being able to get ready to shoot without having to take the glove off, as you would with a normal glove. My friend had a pair of Jacobs; I got a pair after trying them. They allow you to easily "pull" your fingers back into the glove to warm them. This is a major problem I've had with other gloves of this type. If this type of glove fits too tight at the knuckle, it's very difficult to get them off or pull the fingers back in. This happened to me this year, I was about to take a shot at an elk and my hands were freezing so I had to spend a bunch of time trying to get the glommitts off. Nice features of the Jacob's glove include:A liner over the fingers instead of having them bare. If you wanted to have them bare you could cut off the liners. The pocket for chemical hand warmer. I haven't used this yet, but it would be very handy to keep a chem pack in the pocket and if you were getting ready for a shot and your hand was cold, just activate the pack to warm up. It would also be a great place to keep a small ballistics card for reference, or a lens cleaning cloth, etc. It's a warm glove and not too tight, not too loose. The price is a steal. One disadvantage is the magnet that holds the glove back out of the way. All the glove manufacturers started using magnets; this could be bad news if you are trying to use a compass or GPS with magnetic compass. Although usually I just use this glove on my trigger hand and a conventional finger glove on my off hand. So I make sure and use the compass with my off hand and keep it away from the magnet.

I haven't had the chance to really put these to the test with extreme rain, cold, or wind...but so far they've been great with what I've put them through. I love that they aren't fingerless; but rather have thin fabric over the whole finger when the mitten is back. I have noticed cold air can get in the thumb were the gap is located for folding it back as there isn't much fabric overlap...but minimal concern. Nice long fleece cuffs too. A bit bulky for fair weather or packing as extras.
