I was looking for something waterproof and warm that would keep my kids hands warm while they are out playing in the snow for hours. These are perfect! Size XS for my 2 year old, size S for my 5 year old. Can't go wrong. Plus, you can't beat the price!

My son is 3 and had a hard time finding mittens for him that were warm and not just fleece.
These are definitely for a toddler, thankfully! Everything else I was finding was for youth. He likes that these are easy to get on and he even has room to grow. And the cuff keeps the snow out. Looking forward to toasty fingers this winter.

I live in cold, snowy Minnesota and have 3 little kids. I love these mittens for both daily use, as well as back-up mittens for days when they are outside so much they need a dry set to change into. These mittens are inexpensive, yet warm and waterproof. With regular use they will not last more than a season or possibly two--they are not in the category of high-end winter gear as they lack some of the solid construction and features of more expensive mitts/gloves. That said, I never worry about these getting lost or wearing out after a season. Under $10, and warm. Get your expensive pair, then get these for all those backup occasions.

The Jacob Ash mittens looked like nice quality however they ran very small. I ordered based on the age bracket listed and neither of the 7 year olds that I tried them on could wear them. They were too short.

I feel your frustration, that's why I included my son's age along with the size. He is a small guy, 6 years old, and the small gloves fit him perfectly. I may have ordered a medium so he had room to grow. So I would say the small is appropriate for a large 4 year old up to a small 6 year old.

These run true to size. I measured my daughter's hand, compared it to the charts on the web site and they fit as expected. Hope that helps.

They run pretty true to size - they measure from top to very end 6 1/2 inches. From the elastic around the wrist to the end of the fingertip part they are 5 inches. They were big on my 3 year old granddaughter but they were all we could find - since they have some elastic around the wrist they stayed on fine and were usable - she will be able to use them at least next year and maybe even the year after that. I would think most 6 year olds would fit into them but maybe without extra room depending on the size of the 6 year old.
