Not only could I not button them, but I was inches away from being able to. If you find the right size, these would be a great bargain.

This cut is a moderate low rise, cut a little higher in the back, with a slim straight leg. The pair I have is a closet favorite, good weight denim, not too thin and hold shape after washing. Disappointing that sizing is not consistent.

I might try a size up, probably wouldn't go wrong. I got the green ones, and from the picture was expecting more of a seafoam or mint green, but they're actually darker and brighter, more of a kelly green. I like 'em fine though.

However, when I wore the garment to work, the jeans stretched after only a few hours to the point when I regret not wearing a belt! I thought I didn't need one since the jeans fitted like a glove initially. Thankfully, I wore a tunic top and heels: the top camouflaged the baggy seat and the heels prevented an overall sloppy look. Maybe a size 6 would have worked better.

The cut is fantastic; they are what I would call slim straight -- not so skinny that you need to wear a long top with them. I actually thought they'd be skinnier, so I am pleasantly surprised. The rise is low, but comfortably so; the waistband hits at exactly the right spot. I normally wear a size 6, and this 6 could not be more perfect.
