I learned of the benefits of merino wool 2 years ago after seeing a survival show and the host swore by merino wool. It keeps you warm and I now own 2 base layer tops, t-shirt, long underwear, socks and now have the cap.

This is a very well-made, substantial, Aran fisherman's sweater. However, as some reviewers have stated, the knitting is (intentionally) somewhat loose, resulting in more "air space" in the fabric than some people might like. For me, this was not a problem at all. The sweater I received did not contain any "nickel-sized holes" as another purchaser (apparently, an unlucky one) complained of. I would have to pay three times the price to get a sweater this good anywhere else. I am delighted. Highly recommended.

takes the morning chill off and can be opened as it warms up,zipper seems fine but on the wrong side.I'd buy it again very happy with it. I like STP there pricing is second to none so check back often no need to go to the crowded mall.

Fast delivery

The bad news first: it's too big; it has a strong wool (and possibly chemical) smell that requires a few washings to remove; the knit is a little loose so whatever is worn underneath is slightly visible; and the flecking is more prominent than it seemed in the photo. But, despite all that, I really like it. Thanks to earlier reviews, I avoided the size problem by ordering a small size rather than my usual medium. It fits me perfectly, even slightly roomy but that's a good thing in a sweater like this. Overall, it looks great and I've received compliments on it.
