J.G. Glover Hampton Long Coat - Dry Waxed Cotton (For Men)

Very useful coat - good against rain or cold wind. The collar is a plus feature, allowing protection from the elements when turned up, zipped and snapped, but also laying flat and out of the way when turned down. The sizing is tricky, though, so I appreciate the prior reviews advising to "size up" - still, though, I have trouble with the shoulders a little narrow and sleeves a little long eventhough I ordered a size larger than usual. Also, be aware that the color of this coat is much darker that represented by the on-line image. Excellent overall, though, and I am very satisfied.

I was looking forward to this coat but it wasn't as heavy duty as I expected and the shoulders and sleeves were about two sizes smaller than stated. I am returning it.

Has that English backward zipper that I just can't seem to get used to, but the cut, material and style is all you could ask for. Size was smaller than indicated, as noted by other reviewers (thanks, guys!)

I don't at all like the feel of the outer fabric, that crinkly, rustley plastic woven nylon or acrylic or whatever it is - never cared for that stuff one bit. I was thinking this was like canvas or some form of cotton like my old London Fog, but maybe I didn't read closely enough. It's still not a bad coat, but it had a better fabric, it would a home run of one. Once I find that coat of my dreams, I'll probably ditch this one.

This coat is everything I was hoping it would be.

Bought for pack trips. Sleeves are small, too small for layering -- otherwise fine. Returned for next larger size.

LOVE this coat, glad I read the reviews, though. I am an average-size woman so I ordered a LARGE. It fits perfectly, however, if I needed to wear alot of clothing underneath, I would certainly need an XL. Arms are tight-fitting, which in nasty weather is a plus. I always wanted one of these coats and am quite satisfied.

I really wanted to like this coat, however, I tried it on everyday and the sleeves were just to tight. I could barely have a light shirt on. I ended up returning.

To update my prior comment, I exchanged the XL for a 2XL and it fits fine. Now I'm waiting for the rainy season to test it out.

The coat seems nice but it runs very small. I normally wear L or XL so I ordered the XL. It was tight across the shoulders and chest. Even the sleeves were tight around my arm. Guess the Brits are sort of puny. Anyway, I liked the coat so have exchanged it for a 2XL and am anxious to see if it fits. Otherwise I'll have to pay for another return shipping.
