Great gift

Very high quality jacket. Regarding the fit, be sure to follow the guidelines - the letter sizes are not what you expect. Sleeve length is good, but I am 6'3" Might be long on shorter folks.

Jacket is lightweight, warm & handsome design but the medium size did not fit me well and was returned. I am usually a 40 or 41 (USA) size but the sleeve was tight around bicep and a full size too large in the waist. Too bad; such a lightweight jacket just did not fit.

Only potential negative is the British fit - a little small around the chest and shoulder . Wouldn't fit larger guys.

This is a lightweight jacket. The exterior looks good. However, the interior material simply looks cheap. Barbour's waxed cotton jackets are definitely much better.

Glad I read other reviews and ordered an XL. I normally wear one size down. The neck is quite the fashion statement and probably not meant to be done up. Looks great worn open. [...]

I was surprised by the warmth of the coat considering that it is not very heavy. As of this writing we are experiencing heavy snow and cold weather here in the midwest and I have no issues wearing the coat in this weather. Although the collar when buckled seems a little like a neck brace I found that the collar surrounds the neck with sufficient warmth as well as the ears when the coat is completely zipped and snapped. The pockets can carry quite a number of items without giving it that bulging look. And speaking of looks, several people have commented on how great the coat looks. It's not often you get these unsolicited compliments.

This jacket has a great fit and classically British good looks. It's suttle and confident.

A very well made jacket with great quality. I did have to return it due to the size in which the large fit well in length but quite tight through the shoulders, size xl was still tight through the shoulders. So it just wasn't the jacket for me in my size which was too bad because I really liked the look and quality.

I wanted the jacket as a casual top layer for fall & winter layering. I like the look and previous experience told me that maintenance is easy. The woollen collar is snug and comfortable (although that can get wet in a continued downpour), as is the corduroy lining in the sleeves . The pockets are big enough for hands and other stuff, with the inner zipper being especially useful. A "medium" is sized small, and knowing that when I ordered, the sizing is just fine. Once again, STP has provided amazing value!
