Peregrine by J.G. Glover Watch Cap - Merino Wool (For Men and Women)

I learned of the benefits of merino wool 2 years ago after seeing a survival show and the host swore by merino wool. It keeps you warm and I now own 2 base layer tops, t-shirt, long underwear, socks and now have the cap.

My search for the classic winter cap is over, love the English look, and it doesn't itch.

Lightweight warmth that is unbeatable!

This is a great looking hat made out of a nice knit. I bought one in every color.

Wool is hard to beat

This a great, albeit simple, old-school watch cap. My wife says I look like a criminal, especially wearing it along with three days of scruff. All I care about is that this hat is comfortable - warm, and snug without squeezing my brains. I wear it in the garden and in the forest; if my wife insisted on going out on a chilly evening, it'd work for that as well since it pairs equally well with a well-worn Filson jacket or a tidy wool sweater. The only challenge will be preventing Huck from chewing a hole it. Huck eschews shoes, but loves to knaw on hats, which is what prompted me to order this one. I bought a second one last week and if I order from STP again soon, I'll get a third to tuck away.

I wish it were a heavier knit.

This is a very comfortable cap. I wear it under my bike helmet with no problem. I would recommend it.

I like merino wool products. I like this hat, but I am not giving it a five star rating because it is thinner than I expected. You can feel the cold through your hat when it is 40 degrees and lower outside. If this hat was made thicker it would be perfect for those really cold weather days that I need to keep my head warm. So I will use it for days when the temperature is in the 40-50's and above.

This hat is very soft, the knitting is small, and the colors are nice, but it is too thin for New York winters. This "traditional wool watch cap" is anything but a watch cap you would want to stand a watch in. From the description and pictures I expected a bulky, warm hat. No such luck. This is more oriented to style than utility. In most products, you really have to see the item or be prepared to return it.
