Joan Vass Knit Twill Jacket - Medium Weight (For Women)

I read the other reviews, but have liked Joan Vaas clothing in the past, so I gave it a try--even ordered black and brown, just in case I loved it. The sale price was simply too good to pass on! The jacket is plain, but the wrap feature is a cute twist and will be good over a sheath dress or slacks and a sweater or blouse. The sleeves are a little long, but I'm 5'9 and thrilled to have them covering my wrists. This is not heavy weight, but it's a nice addition to my closet and I'm glad I ordered both colors. I probably wouldn't pay full price, but am definitely keeping both colors at the sale price.

At first, I took this out of the box, tried it on, said "meh" and re-bagged it. Then I started seeing possibilities with a few alterations. The internal and external ties distort the shape a little. By removing the ties, sewing on snap closures and topping with a separate belt, it looks much better. I recommend with caution.

This jacket looks better in the photo: the fabric is light and there is no lining in the lapels. I expected better from Joan Vass. The jacket was returned.

THis one a great bargin. I can't wait for it to cool down so I can wear it.

I liked the style and the fabric, and I ended up ordering this in all three sizes. I even tried the matching pants, but they didn't work out for me. I usually wear a M or L in tops, but this brand has been too large in the past, so I started with a Size 1. It was too tight through the shoulders and bust, and short waisted (but I am long). So I returned it for a size 2. The size 2 was too large at the waist, but the stitching is such that I think I can take it in at the side seams. But on a whim, I ordered the size 3 before I returned the size 2. I was thinking that if I washed it in the washer, that it might shrink. Well, the size 3 is much too big at the waist, but is longer. And since I was going to be altering it to fit at the waist anyway, I decided to keep the size 3 for the length.

Love the material, but the design and the cut are so peculiar that I don't know who could wear it

Fits my curves, a nice the dark color, a good winter/cool spring weight for LA weather, or under an overcoat in cold; fits my needs to dress up or down.

This is a beautiful garment that I wish had fit. I followed the sizing guide and it was too large overall. One of those items that is sized 1, 2, or 3. Buy smaller than what the sizing guide says.

It looks fine with some of my other clothing, but not with the coordinating pants.

Loved this jacket but for some reason, when tied, it was too short waisted and since I returned the pants, this went back too. If you can wear this fit, you will love the jacket.
