Closeouts. Creating a graceful flounce at the waistline, this Joan Vass Lace shirt veritably floats across your torso with sweeping bat wing sleeves fashioned from beautiful lace and soft jersey bodice.

I wouldn't have purchased this with a solid sleeve, but the lace shows off my shape, while the drape of the sleeves is just plain attractive. I don't find the lace stiff - it drapes as shown on the model. I wear it when going out for a casual dinner, but not when running around during the day. It seems a bit too dressy for the grocery store.
I do have a problem with the sizing. I typically wear a size 12/medium. STP's sizing puts me at a large for a size 12. I routinely continue to purchase the medium, and it worked out well for me with this top.
What an odd top. It looks so cute in the picture but when you hold it up, it's in a semi-circular shape and the lace is something that you would find at your grandmother's house on her dining room table. The lace is stiff and doesn't drape softly. I tried it with and without a cami underneath. I just couldn't get it to look right and I didn't feel comfortable in it. Back it went ...

The quality is there - no doubt .but I don't have slightest clue how to wear it. First of all this is very see through in the body and has a synthetic feeling to it. I'm not fond of this feel at all - specially in a warm weather/ which this top is perhaps made for./ Second the bat sleeves make me look like I'm trying to hide underneath - instant matron. Probably this top would look good on a small chested 6'+ model - it will hang without any "obtrusions " like it was designed to - and the sleeves may add to the fluidity of movement. On a relatively short 5'5" me - it looks weird . Per second opinion /my stylish daughter/ - looks like being wrapped in a crochet edged tablecover Hmmm..;)

I'm a size 16. The XL was too large, sloppy. The Large fit better. There is so much fabric in the lace sleeves, it's overwhelming - poncho like. Also, you absolutely must wear a camisole becase the underarms are lace which exposes your bra if you lift your arms. The lace is of very good quality however. This would probably be a fun summertime top - I don't know how you could ever get a jacket over it tho' because of all that lace fabric - it would just wad up. Would recommend only with consideration of the above.
