“Learning to love it”

“I knew I had to keep it when I discovered the HIDDEN POCKET in the left sleeve cuff, but I'm still getting used to this coat. (I've never found a sleeve pocket before! That was awesome.) I like the colors (deep green and plum) and the high quality of the materials and stitching, down to the various pockets and the unusual design of the snap buttons, which seem secure and durable. What I'm still getting used to is the bulkiness of a long coat--I like the skirt length but the sleeves of size L seem overlong. But the main thing that bothers me is that the cotton lining extends the full length of the coat (nice workmanship!) and unfortunately it snags against my pants legs when I'm walking, instead of swishing around them. That bugs me. I think I'll get used to it though. Waxed cotton is a nice durable material but not especially warm, even with a cotton lining. On cool or wet days with wind I plan to layer wool under this coat. Note that the placement of the big pockets right over the hips either creates or accentuates a pear shape. To like this coat, you need to be okay with that.”
