Verified Buyer Reviewed by Ron from Georgia on Wednesday, May 14, 2014I can always count on Johnston & Murphey for great quality and a consistent fit. They are a little more of a pointed toe than I expected, but not too much.
Reviewed by Vincent Zhu from Portland on Monday, April 14, 2014As the notification "run large", I ordered a 8.5M size black one. But it's turn out way small, not run large but run small!!
Normally I have a 9M size dress shoe, but this should be 9.5.
But I love the style and craft.
Reviewed by Sierrashopper from PacificNW on Thursday, March 27, 2014I ordered these for my husband, a size down as it suggests on the order page. The length is just right, so I would recommend following that suggestion. Overall fit: Narrow across widest part of toes, a little wide in the heel. The leather is stiff...perhaps would get better after a break-in period. The design looks great in the photos but is rather ordinary in real life, at least in black. Agree with another reviewer - the leather on the black shoes is duller than we expected. My husband has been spoiled by some better brands like To Boot & Mezlan. You get what you pay for (going by the retail price). When you open a box of superbly crafted shoes, you know it in an instant. J & M's.... average, not fantastic, a decent sturdy looking shoe. At the price we paid, they might be an OK everyday kind of shoe, but they're not comfy either. We're thinking it would make more sense to put the money towards another fabulous pair that looks sharp & fits beautifully out of the box.
Reviewed by MJ from Texas on Thursday, January 30, 2014The shoes are nice but they are not sized correctly I would say. They are at least a size to narrow. I can barely get my foot in half way. Also as a previous poster said, they are much longer than the picture shows and they are not a shiny smooth finish, more textured and flat in color. I can only give them one star with the size being so off.
Reviewed by xyzzy from PNW on Saturday, December 21, 2013Shoes seemed well made and good materials. But they are a lot longer and skinnier in person than they look online. I ordered my normal size, 10.5, and there was just no way. I'd say they are a full size narrower.
