Johnstons of Elgin Cashmere-Wool Herringbone Bothy Throw

It's cold here in Wisconsin and a good, big , soft blanket is a must. This cashmere blend fits the need perfectly.

Some alpaca material even makes you itchy. With half cashmere and half lambswool, this Johnstone of Elgin throw is not itchy at all. I bought two multi-color throws. They are so soft and look good. I use it while I watch TV in the family room in the cold winter. It quickly makes my legs and feet toasty warm. I'll use it with a duvet to cover it. Very good buy with the price. Love it!

I bought this as a gift for my sister, but I think I will buy one for myself! It's just the thing to pull over you while watching your favorite show or reading a book. You can use it year round and it's very soft.

I have purchased seven of these blankets over the years and I love them. I have given them for gifts and have several of my own. This is the best throw I have ever purchased and one of my all time favorite STP items.

We purchased one of these blankets last year and were so impressed with it, we bought 3 more when they came back this year in the catalog. We will give 2 as gifts and keep one. We live in Maine and keep the thermostat low in the winter. These blankets are perfect to have on your lap to ward off the chill--they are ultra soft and extremely warm. Plus, because of their generous size, they are perfect for my 6' 3" frame. Given his choice, our cat always picks the lap of the family member with the Johnstons of Elgin blanket for his evening nap.

I own much more elegant blankets than the bothy. I have pure cashmere blankets, pure pajmina throws, etc., but I seem to always reach for the bothy. I think part of it is because it is so practical and the soul of comfort. It is soft and warm, just the right thickness and size to curl up in or meditate in, and I don't worry about spilling things on it the way I do my more expensive blankets. I use it year round. There are two things about it that could be improved. First, it tends to pill — possibly because of the lambswool — but not excessively; it pills just so much and then stops. Also, I'd like to see better colors. They are all sort of drab, and I wish they were lighter and more varied. Other than that, this is a great product.

This is the 5th Johnstons of Elgin throw blanket I have bought and I have only praise for the product: beautiful smoky blue color, soft, light-weight and oh-so-luxurious. The perfect throw to put around my shoulders on a cool night. What a deal - incredible quality for an incredible price. [...]
