Johnstons of Elgin Cashmere Cardigan Sweater - High-Button (For Women)

This would have been a great sweater, a quality product, if the sizing weren't so strange. I found the sleeves much too long and when pushed up, it created a bell shape around my wrists, like some kind of weird retro look. The shoulders were also too big, so with a square shoulder cut, the seams hang over your upper arms, and I'm the type of person that usually will find that the shoulder room is too small. Waste or hip size was fine, but with the really large shoulder area and extra long sleeves I found the look just very odd. It was hard to tell on the model about the sleeve length since she had them pushed up to her forearm. Was disappointed because the cashmere was very nice but had to return it.

This is my Christmas gift to my mother who loves high quality cashmere cardigans. It is a never ending quest to find the perfect sweater. She is 89-years-old but wears a silk blouse and cashmere sweater as she reads her 4-6 books per week. The pink is a lovely, soft classic color. The sweater is beautifully knit and the front placket is finished with ribbon and high-quality gold buttons.

Love the weight of this sweater - substantial, lofty, soft, silky. The style is a forever classic. The gorgeous gold buttons definitely make a statement! Glad I purchased this sweater and will purchase more colors in the future. I purchased the brown (really a nice color) and black.

If you take good care of it, it will last long time. Wish were another color.
