    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I ordered a small, the sweater looks like a Large. the cashmere and the colors are nice. it is extremely difficult to get any quality cashmere things in size xs-s from Johnston of Elgin through sierra trading post. This does not fit the bill, literally.

    She can wear it to a ball game or for an evening at the opera.Its two-ply weight makes it warm in subfreezing temperatures; because its cashmere it's just as comfortable at room temps.

    These are beautiful sweaters if you go for the very conservative, traditional English look, which means that the sweaters are unshaped, a bit baggy, and the arms are ample rather than slim. The reviewer who suggested that these are men's sweaters marked as women's may be right, for they could be worn by either sex and do run a bit big. I'm around 37" in the chest and 5' 7" tall and bought the size 40, which was on the large side for me (I think I should have ordered size 38). I bought one in green and one in black and the colors are equally lovely, as is the quality of the cashmere--soft and luxurious, much, much nicer than the usual department store quality.

    The sweater is the best quality you can buy and Sierra trading has the best prices. The size is generous and the lenght is long enough for someone 5'8".
