These blankets are COLD WATER WASHABLE. Johnston of Elgin praises itself for manufacturing woolen goods since 1797. Do you think that they had dry cleaners back then? For wool, it's VERY soft. I don't think it's itchy at all, but I can see how someone might think it's a little. I think with a little bit of use that tiny bit of itch with disappear. I bought it because it's been very cold lately and I just wanted something that would add a little weight to my down comforter, and it does this very nicely without making it feel overly hot. Just remember that it is a 'throw' blanket, so it is a little lighter and smaller. Perfect for what I needed, though.

I have purchased four of these throws, and I'm extremely happy with the quality and the warmth that these throws provide. The colors are prefect and the throws do not make you itch. This was one of the most important factors in purchasing these lambwool throws. No itching.
Hi - I ordered two throws but not this pattern. However, my computer screen gave a realistic image of the colors of the two I ordered. I am very happy with them and they got used a ton during our Thanksgiving family reunion in the NC mountains.
