Closeouts. A simple yet versatile style that layers beautifully, Johnstons of Elgin's crop cardigan sweater has a softly marled coloration that complements its sumptuous, touchable hand.

I bought this sweater for the color, a luscious purple, kind of heathered. Also for the quality of this brand, I have bought sweaters from them before and the quality is superb. Well-made, durable, classic styling.
The sizing on this item however was challenging. I usually buy Medium in this brand, but after reading the on-line reviews I ordered a Large. When it arrived it was quite small, especially in the arms which were very tight. (I am a slim person) Allover it was just too small, seemed like about 2 sizes off. I knew it was cropped, but that was not the problem. Just too tight.
I returned the Large, and ordered an Extra Large. It is really too big in the bust, shoulders, across the back and underarms but I loved the color so much I kept it --- it was really the only solution. I know that I will enjoy wearing it, it will just be a bit on the roomy side!

This is a beautifully made cardigan with tiny buttons and buttonholes--too many to count, but tasteful and a sign of high quality with ribbon behind the buttonholes. I weigh less than 110 and the XS fits me well. It's possible that some might find the sweater too fitted, so if you like clothes to fit a bit more loosely, keep this in mind. I bought the cardigan (a heathered purple) to wear with sleeveless summer dresses. It will not fit well over a winter top with long sleeves--having three-quarter length sleeves and fitting snuggly.
