Answer The blanket is 100% wool and weighs 2 lb. 6 oz., the GSM was not provided.

Question “I realize this is shetland wool however is it safe to wash with cold water and woolite and air dry? I have asthma and while the wool doesn't bother me, the dry cleaning chemicals do.”

Answer The manufacturer recommends dry clean for best results, but I have hand washed in cold water and air dry wool products without any ill affects.
