They did not look like any freshwater pearls that I ever have seen. They lacked the normal irregularities. They had striations going around their diameters as though someone had tied pieces of thread around the little globules when they were being formed. I had bought them as a gift but can I give them away because they are too cheap looking for words.

It is not the highest quality, but that is also not what I expected for the price. However, it's much nicer than expected for what was paid. The length is nice, pearls are pretty. A great classic set for everyday wear. Bought this for one of my nieces as a starter piece and she loved it. Great gift set.
