“JS sizing and STP suggestion inaccurate”

“If you have worn other JS shoes you may be disappointed in this model's sizing and footbed. I have worn the Mary Jane/Paige style for over a year and love them, but the same size (41) in this Vanessa is way too tight over all. This is surprising because STP says half sizes should order DOWN. I would say EVERYONE should order UP. I usually wear US Womens 10 Med. and 41 in Birkenstocks but in this shoe I would need to try a 42 which, sadly, is not available. My feet are more wide than narrow although I've never owned a pair of wide sized shoes. I like a lot of wiggle room in my shoes. Warning: JS shoes are not all sized the same way, nor do they all have the same comfortable removable insole that the Mary Jane/Paige has. This one has a non-removable, thin bed on top of a hard, nubby surface. Maybe it's supposed to be massaging or stimulating to the soles of your feet. I haven't formed an opinion of this feature yet as I've only worn them sitting and lying down. I may wear them around the house and I've considered having them stretched but I don't know if it will help enough. They are attractive shoes, so if I had the correct fit, I'm sure I'd love them. I wanted something for winter that covers my foot better than a Mary Jane style, but I need room for thicker socks and these are tight even with thin socks. I wish they fit. I love the way they look.”
