5.0 out of 5 stars. Great value

These are well-made glasses that adapt to light. The lenses are super clear and high quality. They don't get super dark, but I don't have to squint in bright sunlight. I use them for cycling and when I head into the shadows or off road into very dark forest they're great. The fit is okay--they aren't performance style with super light frames (like some Oakleys etc.) and the lack of a nose bridge is noticeable. That said they don't fog up too bad (even in races) and do stay on. They fit well with my helmet don't hurt the ears either. Other "photochromic" glasses usually cost at least twice as much and sometime quite a bit more--i.e., great value.

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Disappointing.

I am extremely disappointed by these sunglasses. I have a pair of Julbo glasses that I love and I was really excited about the idea of photochromic lenses. Unfortunately these lenses really are not photochromic. The tint barely changes at all, and they DEFINITELY do not get anywhere near the darkness of spectron 4 (and I even tried bringing them to high elevation (~9,000') to see if they would respond to more intense light). I really wanted these to work for Mountaineering, but they stay much too light for use on a glacier. I really like them otherwise and the clairity of vision is great, but they're too expensive to keep since they do not function as advertised.

If you want a great pair of sunglasses, but do not need them to be very dark, these are for you. However if you want sunglasses that actually respond to changing light conditions or dark sunglasses for super-bright conditions, give these a miss.

Great Glasses! Overall quite pleased. The quality and fit is excelent. The only complaint is that they do not darken as much as advertised. They are said to range from spectron 2-4 . I have a pair of Julbo spectron-4 and the Zebra, I would estimate more at level 3.

Well made and fit just right. I would have perferred grey lenses but this pair was an excellent buy. We be great when I go to Floeida for the winter.
