I was real excited to get these skis for such a good price, only to find out that they need special bindings. I called K2 to ask about the bindings and they said that you cannot buy the bindings separate from the ski; but I did the correct bindings online. I returned these skis and got the exact same pair with the bindings at a different site - much better deal. That way you know the binding will work!

  • K2 Anti Piste Telemark Skis (For Men)
By Furious J-rad, ski demigod from Telluride, CO on 11/03/2009
    Pros:
Great Construction, Installs Easily, Lightweight, Perfect for powder
    Cons:
No edge hold on firm snow
    Best Uses:
    Deep powder
    Describe Yourself:
    Competitive Athlete
    Sizing:
    Feels true to size
    Width:
    Feels true to width
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I have skiied these for two seasons and love them. They are soft, and the rocker lets you stay centered in powder. You won't need to try to keep your tips up like you do with other skis. They are excellent for plowing through crud. You have to stay out of the moguls or they might break because they are so soft (which is a good trade if it is a powder day). If it is ice or hardpacked conditions, leave these skis at home. I feel these are perfect for anyone looking for a lightweight super-fatty for backcountry. Once, I did a six-hour skin/hike and still had enough strength to make delicious tele turns all the way down. My reccomendation is to use the lightweight cable style bindings to keep the weight down. One downfall is that the skins you can buy for these skis are heavy, because of the width.

    Cons:
Flimsy Construction, Handles Poorly, Poor Components, WHEELS SUCK
    Best Uses:
    FOR SITTING IN THE GARAGE
    Describe Yourself:
    Competitive Cyclist
    Bottom Line:

I am a pro D.H. rider for Trestle bike park in winter park Colorado. My first thought was i'll try it. once i got up to my racing speed you find that it sucks. the tubes (no matter what kind you buy) are always poping(even with the best spock sealers). The shifter brock just from average shifting. the break cables are hard to pull even after many tune ups. the frame is as flimsy as tinfoil. The fork is one of the worst on the market, offering almost no adjustment at all and it is always tight.

Great bike, have dropped it, kicked it, crashed it, still alive :). Put street tires on it and it is great for around town. Quick tire change and I can hit the trail.

  • K2 Zed 3.0 Mountain Bike - 2006
By evolutionyzVerified PurchaserVerified Reviewer from Philadelphia, PA on 09/12/2007
    Pros:
Decent components, Disk brakes, Durable, Good Value, Rock Shox J1
    Cons:
    Bad seat, Scratched
    Best Uses:
Basic Transportation, Hard City Riding, Light XC, Smaller Dirt Jumping
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
When I got the bike and opened up the box I noticed the frame had a big scratch on it, which disappointed me. After getting it together (about 30 minutes), it needed solme small tweaking. The brakes are decent, I see myself upgrading them, but it's nice to have something decent as a platform. All of the other components are very nice. I switched to street tires, very agile and comfortable city bike. Can handle hits pretty good too. Overall I am pretty happy with it!
