I wore these shorts for the first time today and they are a perfect fit, sitting at the waist and hitting just abovemthe knees.. I'm 6'1", 188 lbs and wear a 33 - 34 waist. The latter tends to be too big but it is difficult finding 33s and 32s are too tight. Kahalas in a 34 were just right. As a previous reviewer stated, they are a little stiff outmofmthe box but you can tell with a couple of washings, the fabric will soften up. The color "vineyard red" is pretty close to the web display (unlike some other companies that you are never suremwhat you are getting). It adds color without being ridiculously loud. The construction is solid. They are a bit heavy for hiking but awesome around town shorts.

The shorts are well constructed with a riveted waist button and heavy stitching. They should last a long time. The fabric also appears durable with a washed appearance. They are comfortable with adequate space in the legs.

Overall good quality construction would have gotten five stars but the back pockets are too shallow. My tri fold wallet has to be put in side ways in order to button the back pocket. When put in that way it's a close fit to the width of the pocket and getting it in and out is a pit of a pain.
