But wait..the crown is ventilated..on close examination looks like nylon mesh..stiff enough to keep it's shape in the crown-from the brim to the top (which is suede). The outer edge of the brim is reenforced with what appears to be a thin wire-can't tell if it is metal--so it's not a "floppy" brim, but it's not stiff either-it moves when you move it. You want this hat to fit snugly on your head so it won't blow off. It's well constructed and detailed. It''s an outback style which means plenty of coverage and brim--but the brim is a little narrower than most in this style--not a lot--just a trimmer look. It fits well, it looks great, it's navy suede and it's not hot! I really like this hat!

They liked them so much, and so did I, so I ordered another one for myself. The other reviews suggested they run small, maybe they do a little bit, but not excessively so. I usually wear a small size, and the small fit me fine. The size mediums fit my sister's, and that is the size they would normally wear. The hat is light weight, has a cool shape, and the navy blue color makes it that much more stylish. My sisters were impressed that the hat was actually made in Australia!(at least, the label said so) Good deal for this hat.

The medium fits me quite snug and I am usually on the border of a small / medium with a small usually being a bit snug and a medium needed a bit of padding to fit well. The Small hats that I ordered were the smallest I have ever tried on. Now that I know how this brand fits, I will certainly order more when they have my size.

I even tried two of them and neither fit. My other hats were made in Australia but these came from China. Maybe that is why they don't fit. Since I'm and XXL I can't go to the next larger size otherwise I would. This hat is great quality especially for the price. I will probably try again in a year if they still offer it in hopes the sizes are better.

He couldn't be more pleased with it- the fit is comfortable, and the mesh makes it breathable in hot weather. He has a very difficult time finding hats that fit him, since he has a very large head, and this hat fit him in size XL. Perfect!

Too bad, because it is a really nice looking and appears to be a well constructed hat. I returned it. If you can get the right size, I think it would be well worth the price.
