I have worn these boots everyday sence December. Michigan has been sub zero temps. this winter, and these boots are so warm, my feet have never been cold at all! I love these boots wish I got 2 pair. I also read the reviews that they run small and got them a size large for extra socks. Sierratrading post
has excellent products.

They're warm enough. Not very thick on the bottom. I wore them hiking around in the snow. They kept my feet warm and dry but I felt every rock that I walked on. I have a feeling they will be awesome for sled riding but not for winter walks in the woods.
They are are waterproof and may do the job, but you should consult with the company that is organizing your trip. They may have suggestions or gear list of what they know to work best in that environment.

There is a removable liner, but not insole. These run pretty true to size, I wear a size 8 and if I were wearing a thicker sock it would fit nicely. So a 7 should fit you.

Hello Michelle,|I can't answer your question about the insert, but the size 7 is working well for me even though I normally wear size 6.5. ||Best,|Beth

I could not pull the insert out, but have added orthotics and they worked fine. I wear a 7 1/2 to 8; bought an 8 and the boots fit fine. Lacing them up tight is important so your foot doesn't move around too much. Also added those warm toe pads sold on this site and there was still plenty of room.

I am a true 7 generally, and I ordered a size up. If you want to wear thin socks and have a snug fit, the 9 should be fine. If you'd prefer a little roominess and freedom of toe movement, go with a 10.

I wear size 7 in shoes, size 8 in these boots felt quite comfortable with reg. sock.
