Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by LK from Ontario on Friday, January 30, 2015I have very similar old Kamik about 7-8 years old, they're much better.
The current ones are garbage. Rated to -40! Walking the dogs in -10 C I get frost INSIDE the boot.
For comparison, my feet are toasty warm in my lightly(!) insulated leather hunting boots to -20 at least (if I am moving).
The sole is very thin, not insulated at all. Without the liner, it's as warm as my summer rubber boot.
Removable liner is not the best quality either.
These boots used to be the best deal for Canadian winter, not anymore.
I guess I will have to try Buffin or something...
Verified Buyer Reviewed by yaroslav kovalenko from kyiv, ukraine on Saturday, May 17, 2014I've been using them in temperatures just below 0C, but they were uncomfortably cold even in this weather.
Definitely waterproof, but I would like more warmth
Reviewed by Basil in Durango from Durango, CO on Friday, November 22, 2013I love these boots, what a great deal at $50, they are very warm, comfortable and have perfect traction on snow and ice. They are very easy to put on and take off, perfect for a quick trip outside in the snow to get more firewood, etc.
Reviewed by Mom from MIchigan on Tuesday, November 19, 2013Bought these for my son and he loves them
Reviewed by winter from WY on Sunday, November 17, 2013Bought men's boots because didn't have women's on sale. I expect they will be very warm, maybe too warm. Husband wore his wading & fishing & was unhappy because water leaked in at the seam. Doubtful it would be a problem when wearing in the snow.
Excellent value at $45 a pair. Would not have paid $100 since we will need them only for this season.
Question & Answer
The shaft height is 12".
“#1:How heavy is this boot? #2: Would this be an adequate boot for a sternman on a lobster boat who will
be working throughout the winter on a scalloping boat? #3:How well does this boot hold up?
Also, if there is a better boot you could suggest, please feel free!
Or if this pair is a great one I am ready to purchase!
Thank you for your time and patience!
