Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by jason V from Pittsburgh, PA on Tuesday, December 16, 2014I wear a size 10, ordered a size 10, and I they feel like these were custom made for my feet. I spend a lot of time outdoors in the winter, but I'm usually moving around, and these have been perfectly warm, even in the toes, even during the unrelenting cold from the 2013/14 winter. That I was able to buy this quality boot for under $60 is ridiculous! Occasionally I'll peek at what $60 buys at a big box store, and it's not much. The laces were rather long, so I need to wrap them around the boot once, but I'll take too long over too short. I didn't know about Kamik before, and they seem like a cool company. This model was made overseas, but Kamik is making a lot of their boots in N. America and are pretty smart with energy and recycling. Overall, they feel like slippers and can take a beating.
Reviewed by WHH from Connecticut on Sunday, February 9, 2014I was looking for an insulate foul weather boot and found these fit the bill. They fit well and were comfortable immediately. They are water proof and pretty warm. During our recent Polar Vortex crazy cold spell they did OK, but couldn't keep up with the single digit cold. Still like them, not much works when it gets that cold. One odd thing is the long laces. I found when I wrapped the laces around the shoe about half way up then continued to lace them up it all made sense. You can lace the bottom tight then leave the top section looser making it easier to drive or sit.
Reviewed by Jen from MIchigan on Thursday, January 30, 2014I wear a women's 9, but need wide, so typically buy men's boots. The size 8 in these fits me perfectly. These are good quality. No moisture gets through. They are pretty comfortable. I had to add an insole with arches, but I always have to do that. These have good traction, and are relatively light weight for what they are. So I'm pretty happy except for one thing -- they are not as warm as I expected. I was out shoveling snow for 20 minutes in low single digit temps, and my feet were pretty cold. I was wearing decent wool socks, but not of the thickest variety. I was also making a point to keep the snow off the top of the boot while I worked. These are rated to -40, and I certainly don't think they'd be comfortable at that temp even with the very best of socks. I had hoped these would be good for snowshoeing, but I don't think they will be warm enough for extended periods in the snow. Also the laces are way too long -- plan to replace them.
Reviewed by Dave the dog walker from Minnesota on Wednesday, January 1, 2014I am very pleased with these boots. They have more than met my expectations. They are true to size, comfortable, easy to take on and off and are very warm. I would definitely purchase these again.
Reviewed by Northern Minnesotan from Duluth, MN on Wednesday, January 1, 20141. Top lace hook broke off one boot after four uses of boots simply from being laced and use while walking.
2. Outward fluting design of boots of boot tops allows snow to collect, pack, melt, and chill leg at boot top, along withwith filling bootthat when removed.
Liked other wnter boots by this company but this model was of poor quality and design.
Question & Answer

“I have a question about warmth. These boots have 200g Thinsulate® insulation and also have a comfort rating to -40°F. This does not seem to correlate with your Winter Boot Guide which says about Thinsulate;
Uninsulated to 200 grams: Not good for cold weather - these are spring-to-fall boots.
400 - 800 grams: Best weight for high activity in cold weather or less activity in semi-cold weather.
Is this comfort rating to -40F for someone who is running? Or lifting weights in the snow? Or are they actually this warm! I am trying to decide between this product at 200g Thinsulate and Golden Retriever Dry Dawgs 400 Gram Hunting Boots - Waterproof, Insulated (#4597C) which is 400g Thinsulate® Ultra insulation. The Dry Dawgs boot does not have a temperature rating.
I want to be able to hike about 2000ft elevation gain in the snow at about 10°F comfortably...
I would think that either boot would work well for you if you are only going to be in 10 F temperatures. It is important to note as it states in the winter boot guide: "Many pac/ winter boot manufacturers provide temperature ratings for their boots, such as "Rated to -50° F." These ratings are determined based on varying scientific measures, and will not apply to everyone the same way. Use these ratings as a general guide to figuring out which boots are the warmest, but don't expect the boots to perform to that exact temperature rating. Your health, activity levels, clothing, perspiration, exposure time and other factors can all alter the effective temperature rating."
“Hello, we are wondering about the sizing of these boots - I normally wear size 11. Are these boots true to size?
Also where is the height measured from?
According to our fit models these boots are running true to size and width. They are measured from the top of the heel.
