Verified Buyer Reviewed by frigid in the Yukon from Alaska on Friday, March 16, 2012I'm using these boots up in Alaska as we speak, and they're rated to - what - 58 degrees F below Zero? Yeah right. If you're not moving around (i.e, if you're standing in one place too long), your feet WILL get cold. Even with 3 pairs of socks my feet EVENTUALLY got cold - there is basically some thick rubberized plastic, a footbed and the Thinsulate liner between your feet and the frigid snow/ice.
These may be the warmest boots available, but NO boot will protect you if you normally get cold feet. Bring footwarmers, get Hotronics - just don't count on a temperature rating (on boots OR gloves) as gospel.
- Best Uses: 0-20 degrees F
- Cons: Eventually they get cold
- Pros: Warm to a point
