“Really warm and comfortable shoes right out of the box. However, sizing is a big problem and though I ordered a size larger, they were still slightly small. I used them immediately for a 9-mile hike in the Whites. Started in mud and ended up in very heavy snow and ice. Performed well everywhere except the ice. They simply have ZERO traction for icy conditions. Snow is OK, but not ice. Felt I needed crampons.”
