“As far as wet weather boots go, I got these since they looked rather attractive and received good reviews. I was somewhat worried about the calf width due to comments here, but I've come to the conclusion that although my calves are actually a bit on the larger (muscular) side, they still fit me. I think this must be because I had ordered one of the larger sizes though: a size 8. I would imagine that the calf opening gets smaller as the shoe size gets smaller? Even so, I would not plan on wearing these around all day; I would wear these during wet weather only, and also was not planning on walking for multiple miles at a time in these. So there are no worries for me regarding chafing. I ended up with the only color left, which was black/grey .. I would have preferred the blue I think.”
