These are great shoes…for walking. For running, they failed on every level. There is simply way too much cushioning underfoot. They feel floaty and vague. The shoes insist on landing completely flat with each step, turning my gait into a series of stomps. The end result for me was that the shoes took my calf muscles out of the equation, turning my runs into a relentless thigh workout. Oddest of all was that the shoes made the bottoms of my feet go numb. Loosening the laces helped the numbness, but it made the shoes even sloppier. If I overlook the shocking Valentine Red color, they will make decent walking shoes. I may give them one more chance at running with some thinner insoles.
For comparison, I normally run in Karhu Forward Ride and Brooks Adrenaline, both great shoes. I run 15-20 miles per week at an 8 minute pace, and have no foot or knee problems.
