These shoes are very light (~1 lb) and fit very comfortably, almost like a slipper. However, despite the minimalist design, they provide a solid sole for rock protection. The angled lacing system is fast and secure. These shoes do require some braking in however.
If you have never used free-runners before and you have never even adjusted your gait to at least a mid-foot strike, then I would not recommend these shoes. You MUST transition steadily from standard highly-supported sneakers, otherwise you will hurt yourself. These were my first true minimalist trail shoes and it took me 4 months to build up to a 12 mile trail run (despite having perfected a mid-foot gait over the past several years on other shoes). These shoes strike between mid and front foot and will challenge your tibialis, calves, and feet initially.
Also, if you do a ton of scrambling on rock and gravel, you can easily get blisters on the bend of the big toe. Since they aren't kept firmly in place by a giant insert and footbed, your feet will slide, especially on non-paved roads. I recommend teflon foot powder. Even then, you will have to build up the toughness of your feet.

Extremely comfortable and lightweight, though sized slightly smaller and narrower than a normal Keen. Cannot be beat for short trail runs and walking on a soft track. Good general purpose workout shoes for the gym also. I agree with the comment that the lacing system avoids hot spots. The shoe wraps the foot like a slipper, close to running barefoot but the sole is quite grippy. I like this shoe.
