Keen Alameda 15 Messenger Bag with Laptop Compartment

Each work day I carry my lunch, book, phone, jackets, etc., and I wanted a bag that was comfortable to carry and enough room to carry these items plus occasional extras. This bag was a great size, but it is extremely heavy. The very worst thing is the access to the bag. The zippered opening is smaller than main body of the bag so you sometimes have to jockey things around to get them in, but the worst thing is the zipper to close the inner compartment. It is at a weird angle so it is always a two handed difficult procedure to get the bag closed. Consequently, I don't zip it that often, then I have to worry things will fall out

I've been very pleased with my new Keen bag; the structured bottom is great because it allows the bag to stand up-right on counters, desks, etc., and the rubberized design keeps the bottom from scuffing. The padded strap is extremely comfortable, and having multiple divisions within the main compartment makes organizing computer, notebooks, and files a breeze. Doesn't feel bulky or uncomfortable even when I've got a water bottle, jacket and hat stuffed on top of my normal work materials.

This bag holds everything I need, a small purse, extra stuff, laptop, papers, cell phone, travel cup and more. I couldn't believe how well it worked for me. It's tough and appears to be water resistant at worst and proof at best. It's my perfect 10. The colors are a bit drab/earthy but I like that it goes with my rain gear perfectly.

It is a great bag at an equally great price. I like to ride my bike to work and this does the job. Lays nicely on your back with a very comfortable strap.

As others have mentioned, the zipper design is not fantastic, but it's still very workable.
