Love these after a bit of getting used to. they have a larger opening than other shoes, but after about three days wearing them, they are getting more comfortable. Like most Keen's I bought a half size larger than I normally. Well made and look like they should last a long time.

These shoes are very well made but be informed that the Alamosa has a narrow toe box and is the most narrow cut shoe in Keens line. Very good looking and cleans up well after a lot of trail abuse.

I've been breaking these in before 6 days of hiking in Utah. They are very loud, non-cushioned on pavement/concrete/rock. However they've been great off road. They were also very stiff at 1st but after logging ~10 miles or so there is now much more flexibility and it feels like it's forming to my foot. I wear a 10.5 so that's what I bought and seems to fit right.

My evaluation is limited, since I had to send these back due to being too small. The shoes are well made, good looking and "rugged" built. As other reviewers have noted, they run SMALL. I usually wear a 9 comfortably, and a 9.5 in these was still too "short". I wore them in the house a bit to see if they might work, and noticed they are a bit "warm" due to the waterproof membrane. I did reorder a larger size, so am looking forward to wearing what seems to be a good all round outdoor shoe.

Ok, so I do a ton of review reading before I buy this kind of stuff and I looked at every waterproof trail hiker i could find. I decided on this shoe, the Keen Alamosa. This is what I found out after wearing for a couple weeks in mild temperatures: I wear a 14 typically and I went for a 15 (which I do wear in some brands so its not uncommon) because a lot of reviews said this shoe runs about a half size small. They were correct, but unfortunately they do not make a 14.5. So, yes, my shoe is a tad too big. I did recently purchase wool socks which are a bit thicker than cotton and therefore help a little. I'm sorry but I havent had a chance to really test the waterproof ability yet. I bought these mainly for when I play disc golf in the summer, early in the morning, in the very dewy grass. It gets my shoes so wet that a typical gym shoe is terrible and my feet and socks would get soaked immediately. Anyway, its not summer yet so no waterproof testing yet. However, I did notice that compared to my previous shoes, North Face Hedgehog III GTX Trail Hiker, these Keens get very hot inside very quick and stay hot. It's not even summer yet so thats bad for me. They just do not seem to breathe as well unfortunately. With that said, this Keen Alamosa is very comfortable and will be great fort the winter with my wool socks.

High Quality, excellent sole configuration, comfy shoes. I'm gonna like these for general wearing plus light hiking on trails.

Keen shoes hold up well. I average 7 miles a day hiking and after 6 mos they are still in fair shape. My feet and legs appreciate the cushioning too. They are nice looking shoes. I have another pair I wear for casual situations.
