hard footbed

I have Keen Newport sandals, and Keen low boots, and Keen maryjanes. The arch support usually fits snugly beneath my arch, and there is a nice low spot to accomodate the ball of my foot. These boots don't have that low spot for the forefoot. They are higher beneath the ball of my foot, and much stiffer and less cushioned that my other Keens.

I'm a Keen 7, with a narrow foot. I tried them on with a thin cotton sock, and they fit true on the length, and tight on the width (a first for me with Keens).

They are so cute that I'm keeping them for one more day, to see if maybe I can make them work. But, I think they're going to have to go back.
