Keen Charleston Lace Shoes - Leather (For Women)

I am a fan of keen shoes. This pair has not let me down.

I own at least 10 pair of keen shoes/boots/sandals. I love all of them, but these Charlestons did not have the footbed i am used to. No support. But keen still is my #1 favorite shoe.

Note, that as with most Keen shoes these run about a half size too small, so just order up. I kept these shoes and will wear them, because I needed something casual but warmer than sneakers, and I had a pretty decent % off coupon. However, be aware that they are not as comfortable or as well made as any pair of Keens that I have had before. The sole is one piece of molded rubber and they have little to no support. I am wearing them with insoles. Unless you get a great bargain like I did, or STP marks them down further, I would not recommend.

I was looking for a pair of lace-up shoes in black that I could wear with pants almost any time. These fit that criterion. They are attractive and don't stand out as entirely too casual, like running shoes do, if you wear them to, say a local theater production with black slacks. BUT... I ordered 1/2 size larger than I normally order, and they still feel about one size too small. They squeak when I walk, and the top sometimes chafes on the right side. Keen shoes are normally wonderful, so I have been surprised at how uncomfortable these are; I will probably return them, though I have never returned a product I have already worn - either I make that decision before wearing, or I live with the results of what I have bought. But these are outside the parameters of what I think I can live with!

My husband and I love Keens, or at least most of them. We probably own close to ten pairs between the two of us. These did not have the usual fit and feel that the others have. I exchanged these for a mens' pair and think the new pair are great.

great walking shoe

Overall nice shoes, though not as nice as other Keens. They are super cute - love the dark pink stitch details. They seem a little more cheaply made than other Keens, made with lower quality materials and with a less substantial sole, stiffer leather, and less cushy feel in the insole. The right shoe rubs my heel a little, but I'm hoping that will break in. They are great for the price and meet my needs.

Don't know if they are as well built as the earlier Keens I've worn for so long but I put these on and wear all the time. Very comfortable to work in. Also had some snow and I was surprised at the tread and how well it gripped. Great price and have happy feet.

These shoes are narrower/have less toe box room, and less cushioning than any other pair of Keen shoes I own. This is a new style for me and I did purchase them online without trying them on, since I've been able to do that with all but my first Keen purchase. I wouldn't say they're uncomfortable, just different.
