I use these for work because I can use my orthotics comfortably. Keen is my shoe of choice for this reason and because of their great quality. I will buy this brand whenever I get the chance.

I was not to impressed when I took them out of the box. They seemed to be made of pretty thin leather, I do alot of walking in rough rocky country so I was a little worried about that. But I never got a chance to test them out. They really just did not feel right when I put them on, no matter how i laced them. I have pretty flat feet, and my feet can be picky. I had to lace them up super tight to keep my heel from slipping.. to the point the lace hooks were bruising my ankles. So I sent them back

I haven't had new boots for a long time. I have tried multiple different boots on at stores and none of them fit me well. I love keen shoes and decided to try these out. First day out they felt great. Keen came through again.

I ordered a pair since the closeout price was a steal. I ordered in the same size as any other Keen product I own. Typically the size consistenty delivers a no-fuss fit. When these came I was disappointed to find them very small with regard to width and height. I sent them back.

I got my husband a pair. He has very wide feet but after reading reviews we went for it. Hr has a bit if a raw area on the outside of his foot that he is going to try to stretch out but otherwise very comfy. I liked them so much I got a pair for myself. I like a bit wider boot than women's shoes provide. I wear 8.5 women and got a men's 7 and they were perfect. I took them for a test run and was amazed at the cushy comfort. We went on a 2 day 15 mile backpacking trip in the smokies right away and they were perfect! No breaking in very soft and waterproof. I will say they are quite hot. Don't know how much I will wear these in the summer.

  • Question “How stiff is the sole of the boot? Are they good for long distance backpacking hikes?”
Asked on 9/22/2012 12:00:00 AM by azhiker from Unknown
    • Answer Depends on what environmental conditions you hike in. I have not backpacked in mine yet, but I wear them about with a camelback day pack. These are designed for long distance backpacking. I would wear mine on any trip that I take into the Rockies. I carry a 45-50# pack depending on length of trip and wouldn't hesitate to wear these on my 3 season trips. I would describe these as moderately stiff, but as the keen description says - they are rugged, reliable, waterproof, comfortable, flexible and stable at the same time. These are a great boot!!! You will like them too. Oh and I bought YakTrax Pros for mine for those times when the conditions are real hard packed snow or icy and they work great under those conditions too. I don't do big ice with cleats/spikes, and would recommend a molded frame boot for that type trip. My feet are always warm, dry and comfortable when I get done. Go Keen... Hope this helps...
