awkward fit

Well, the fit/sizing was good. These are nice and wide for those of us women who have turned to men's shoes to obtain the wider fit we need. No complaints there. What was awkward was where the lace tie puts pressure on the tongue, creating an uncomfortable amount of pressure on the top of the ankle. To tie the shoe tight enough to keep it on made the tie dig in to the foot. Also, where the laces zig-zag on the foot - not sure what that is all about - created pressure on my big toe joints. If you have no foot problems whatsoever these might work for you, but I have bunions and arthritis in my toe joints so this additional pressure was unacceptable. However, I would still recommend these if you don't have the same feet problems I do.
