“I'm an adventure guide. Sizing--do as others instruct and get 1/2 size to size smaller than norm. I went 1/2 size smaller and the fit is snug, but I'm O.k with snug. I often go from river to trail to river to trail. I had finally worn out the Teva's--went with the hype and got these keens. They look cool I guess, but not impressed where it counts (on the mountain). They are extremely heavy. Maybe mine are slightly too tight...but debris seems hard to remove (I don't have time to sit down and take off my shoes alot). But my biggest issue--and I'm comparing it to my old school Teva's--very poor traction in the river. I slip on things like crazy--until I put my old Teva's back on. I don't like that the materials on the sole changes--it goes from slick to extremely slick on the toe section. They seem to take a long time to dry. Insufficient ventilation--Strangely, it's a sandal that makes your feet hot. I do like the toe protection and realize that accounts for some of the weight--just wanted to put this review out for those that use them as intended. Great for the city--not so much for the Mountains/Rivers. If you don't have experience with other brands...I can see why you'd love them.”
