I was surprised because it said the shoe ran small and to order a half size larger. I wear an 8 but I really wanted these shoes and they only had a 7 left in the color I wanted. I bought these for light hiking and the gym. They are not as wide as the old Keens, especially in the toe box. They are lightweight and breathable. I wore them occasionally even though they squished my toes. In less than 6 months they had begun to fall apart; the lining had holes and tears in the back of the heel, the sole was coming unattached. An eyelet popped out within a month.

I received them and expected them to be too small but they fit great. They have a wide toe area and I think this may be the reason they fit. I have wide feet so although they are a size too small the width allows them to fit my feet correctly.

Question & Answer

    • Keens have great support and padding. They are wider in the toe box, but these are not as wide as most of their shoes. If there is not enough padding for you, as everyone is different, you can remove the insole and insert your own.

    • Yes, but not a lot of wiggle room for toes at the top.

  • “How are these shoes for running?”
Asked by Jan from Unknown on 3/10/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • These shoes are comparable in weight to a running shoe weighing in at 1 lb 6 oz. They are going to be similar to a trail running shoe in the fact that they are stiffer. They would work for running, just may be a little clunkier.

About Keen

Keen shoes have been helping feet find adventure since 2003, and it all began with the signature KEEN.PROTECT toe bumper. It might seem strange to build a footwear company around a feature, but that iconic toe bumper is more than just a style add-on. It’s what allows Keen sandals to hit the trails and provide the best toe protection possible. In fact, Keen was one of the first footwear companies to make closed-toed hiking sandals. Over the years, the product selection has continued to grow and now includes Keen hiking boots, trail shoes, cycling shoes, socks, clothing and bags. The brand is also actively involved in land and water conservation projects in the US, Canada, Europe and Japan.
