Keen Summit County Winter Boots - Waterproof Insulated (For Women)

I recently ordered these to wear for winter walking and hiking in the northeast and Canada. They look well-made. No opportunity to test them until winter 2010 when I travel to snowbound country. I ordered size 6 women. I tried them on wearing mid-weight smartwool socks, walking around inside my house. The boots felt light, my feet felt snug but comfortable. I would not be able to wear heavy socks with these boots in this size (I was not planning to when I ordered them). On me, these look like moon boots. The bottom of the boots are wide - not sure how to explain that. There is extra material around the perimeter of the bottom of the boots. That maybe a good thing for balance and traction. Overall, I am very pleased with these boots. If Keen's product development reads these reviews, these boots would be great in taller version. Make the shaft progressively thinner as they go up so that they are not too bulky. At the least, give the next version of these boots a place to secure gaiters.

Even though I didn't buy these from STP [...] you are lucky to be able to get them at such a great price here! They are awesome, I have semi-wide feet and the ball of my foot and toes are very comfy and I'm able to move them around. Toes stay toasty warm and they have great ankle support etc. I love STP for their awesome deals [...]! p.s. I'm not the type to rave about stuff unless it's truly warranted either....

I love the Keen foot bed for shoes so I tried the boot. Thanks Keen for being a consistent manufacturer of a quality product. It was just the type of boot I was looking for living in the North country. Light weight and warm. Great fit also!

great in snow

These boots are what I've been looking for, they are really warm, comfortable, and they aren't the big bulky boot. I have received a ton of complements on them.

I ordered this boot to keep my feet warm and dry while hiking with my dogs this winter. First thing out of the box is that these boots are great looking. I ordered them 1/2 size bigger then I usually wear which I do with all Keens. They fit great, instantly I could feel the warmth, traction is rugged, and the sole is a little thicker and bigger for protection against the cold. Also very light weight. I think I will also use these on cold days to do my errands and shopping.

Walking dogs and hiking often in sub zero weather. Search and rescue work. Wonderful fit for a cold weather boot that requires considerable hiking and versatility.

Fits a bit small so I would order a size or least 1/2 size bigger.
