“I bought these boots in preparation for an REI hike down and around the Grand Canyon. The hike was rated strenuous. I bought these boots two months before the hike and used them to train in the mountains around around our house. I had no trouble with the boots on these hikes. First day of Grand Canyon we hiked 11 miles down to the Colorado River, over boulders and rough terrain. I had a few blisters and significant trauma to three toenails (which I have since lost). 3 more days of hiking didn't help the situation :) I know this was probably about me and the fact I did not think about my feet at all given the terrain was new to me and often treacherous. So many people have said they didn't need a break in time I just wanted to add that if you are going to do a strenuous hike, take the time to break the Keens in properly beforehand. Many people wore lighter, more flexible boots and their feet fared much better in the Grand Canyon.”
